Ultra-Enzyme Support® combines 11 different essential digestive enzymes and enzyme blends and is formulated for kids (1 tablet with meals) and adults (2 tablets with meals) who prefer tablets to capsules.
In general digestive enzymes break down food particles so they can be absorbed. Enzymes that can break down food are present in all foods including animal products but the heat from cooking and processing kills them and the enzymes our body produces are affected by age. The older we get the less we produce. Where enzymes are not present at the time of food consumption food is not broken down as completely, absorption of nutrients is impaired, a strain is put on the digestive system, immune function is impaired and digestive distress including gas and bloating can occur. This formula includes:
Protease helps digest protein molecules. Four varieties of protease enzymes have been combined in this formula to compensate for higher protein diets.
Amylase helps digest simple and complex carbohydrates and starches, i.e. pastas, breads or starchy vegetables like potatoes.
Glucoamylase, Invertase and Malt Diastase help to digest glucose and other sugars. All three enzymes are included to insure that all natural and refined sugars are completely digested. Improperly digested sugars can lead to blood sugar imbalances.
Lipase helps digest fats and oils. Undigested fats can cause weight gain, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure. Additionally, Lipase helps your body better utilize Omega fatty acids.
Lactase helps digest dairy products.
